Job Creation Partnerships
Ontario Job Creation Partnerships is an
employment program that provides work experience to unemployed job
seekers within projects that benefit the community or local economy. At
the end of their participation, participants in the program will have
recent work experience and additional skills to add to their résumés,
increasing their chances of successfully finding long-term employment.
Ontario Self Employment Benefit
The Ontario
Self-Employment Benefit provides unemployed people who are or have
recently been eligible for Employment Insurance with income and
entrepreneurial support while they develop and start their business.
Second Career Strategy
The Second Career Strategy will help recently laid-off
workers who require long-term skills training to find work in high-skill
occupations that are in demand in the local labour market.
The
strategy provides financial assistance based on individual needs to help
people with some of the costs associated with acquiring training,
including tuition and books.
Summer Jobs Service (SJS)

Summer Jobs Service (SJS) is the summer program for students from the
Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and is available
from April to September. Some of the highlights of SJS are:

provides employers with a $2.00 per hour wage subsidy

applicable to youth ages 15 - 30 years, who are planning to return to school
-
the employment period may be up to 16 weeks
-
youth working part-time (24 hrs/wk or less) are
eligible, providing their work hours
are increased to 35 hrs/wk or more.
